Kent State University is one of only 40 schools that are Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) accredited. The school is also part of National Intercollegiate Flying Association Region 3.

Value

Kent State University’s base tuition is higher than average. An in-state resident can expect to pay about $24,000 a year. For out-of-state students, tuition is $33,000 a year.

On top of base tuition, students can expect to spend an extra $70,000-$80,000 over the course of four years. This includes some flight courses that are optional like multiengine flight instructor training.

Kent State University accepts veteran’s benefits for academic and flight training.

Kent State is able to expose students to pilot pathway programs to jumpstart their career while flight training. KSU works with FedEx, Delta Propel, Endeavor Air, and others airlines to provide students the availability to gain conditional job offers before graduation.

In addition to pathway programs Kent State offers, the school also provides career service for their aviation students. The career service they offer can help students find internships, co-ops, and connect students with potential employers.

Fleet and Facilities

Kent State University offers a traditional fleet of aircraft to train students, including:

Graduates of Kent State University’s Part 141 bachelor’s degree flight program are eligible to obtain a restricted airline transport pilot certificate with as few as 1,000 flight hours.

Campus Life

Kent State University provides students with 25 housing options. Aviation students have the option to reside in a living learning community which houses only aeronautics and engineering students. KSU also hosts 18 on-campus dining locations.

Students have many clubs and organizations to be a part of. KSU has more than 350 organizations students can look into. Intramural sports are also available for students with a competitive itch. In addition to the many clubs and organizations KSU houses, the school also has a rich Greek life.
