Redbird Rolls Out Training Enhancements

Flight controls for home simulator users broaden company’s market reach.

Simulator maker Redbird introduced a number of new products and training enhancements this week at Oshkosh, including flight control for home simulator users and a new version of its Parrot automated ATC tools.

The new Alloy line of flight controls for home simulator users encompasses the TH1 single-engine throttle, TH2 multi-engine throttle and YK1 yoke and RD1 rudder pedals, which can be used with most simulator programs, including Microsoft Flight Simulator, Lockheed Martin’s Prepar3d and Laminar Research’s X-Plane.

Redbird is also showing off updates to its voice-recognition software tools with the release of Parrot 2.0 and Scarlet 2.0. Parrot offers computer-generated radio communication training, and Scarlet allows an instructor to control the virtual training environment, including weather and system failures, through voice commands.
