Last week, Textron Aviation handed over the keys of the 45th aircraft in the Wheels Up fleet — the first-ever pink Beechcraft King Air 350i.

Beginning service October 1, Pink Plane is the flagship for Wheels Up’s first annual breast cancer awareness initiative to raise funds for the Dubin Breast Center at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

For each new member who joins during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Wheels Up will donate $500 to the Dubin Breast Center. The company projects that it will kick off the initiative with a $75,000 donation, anticipating 150-plus new members in October.

The initiative will also include a fly-a-thon to encourage current members to make one-time donations or pledge a dollar amounts of their choice for each revenue hour flown. Wheels Up anticipates that the Pink Plane will fly between 600 and 800 hours in its first year of service.

Wheels Up CEO and Founder, Kenny Dichter, says the company expects to raise over $1 million for the Dubin Breast Center in its first annual fly-a-thon.
