Yesterday Pilatus launched an online configurator for the iPad that allows users to create their dream Pilatus PC-12 turboprop single.
One of the hottest marketing tools for carmakers these last few years has been so-called “configurators,” digital utilities that let fans of the car (and potential customers) pick out colors, body mods, trim and interior options to arrive at a completely customized ride, which is displayed in full color with spinning 3-D views and more.
The Pilatus app lets users select one of four BMW DesignWorks USA interior themes, while also picking out paint schemes, woods, carpet, leather and interior trim and saving the images to a file that can be emailed or shared with friends.
If you can’t wait to buy the airplane once you’re done giving it the one-of-a-kind treatment, you can also use the app to navigate to the nearest dealer, who will be more than happy to get the contracts going.
