Larry Turley's passion for flying, initially sparked as a teenager, was rekindled after two decades when he transitioned from motorcycles to aviation due to his experiences as an ER physician.
He eventually acquired a Pilatus PC-12 in 2005, a plane he long admired, making the purchase viable by placing it on a Part 135 charter to offset costs.
The PC-12 proved to be an indispensable business tool for his winery, enabling efficient long-distance travel, transporting large quantities of wine, and impressing Turley with its exceptional strength, performance, and advanced capabilities for IFR flight and short landings.
Larry Turley first decided he wanted to be a pilot when he was a teenager, working the line for an FBO in Augusta, Georgia, and the Master’s Golf Tournament came to town.
“Arnold Palmer and the other pros landed their jets and pulled out gas credit cards,” Turley remembers with a laugh. “I’d never seen that before.”
