Key Takeaways:

  • FLYING magazine is introducing digital-only issues, starting with September, to adapt to the evolving ways the aviation community consumes information and expand its reach.
  • This strategic move allows the publication to balance its nearly century-long print legacy with innovation, ensuring relevance and accessibility by meeting readers wherever they engage with content.
  • Despite changes in format, FLYING's core mission remains to tell aviation's stories with accuracy, curiosity, and respect for the community it serves.

Aviation does not happen in one place anymore.

It happens at Oshkosh, where thousands of people gather around flight lines, forums, aircraft displays, and evening conversations that stretch well past sunset. I know I had plenty of these at Camp Scholler. It happens in hangars and flight schools, at maintenance shops and on the ramp, in owner groups, text threads, YouTube videos, newsletters, and in between legs of a cross-country flight.
