Current position-holders for the Eclipse 500s will be allowed to step to the front of the line to place deposits on the $1.35 million model 400 single. They will also be afforded a discount of $125,000 off the price. The Eclipse 400 is the four-seat, production version of the V-tail Eclipse Concept Jet that first appeared at EAA AirVenture last year and is expected to be certified by the end of 2011. It will be powered by a single Pratt & Whitney Canada PW615F and is expected to cruise at 330 knots at 41,000 feet. Fuel burn is expected to be less than one pound of jet-A per nautical mile. While current Eclipse 500 customers can place their deposits now, others must wait for the first day of EAA AirVenture 2008, which runs from July 28 to August 3.
