Even aboard business airplanes, there are people who simply don’t like the bumps that often accompany flying. Some passengers tell operators many of the pets flying along these days don’t like the bumps either. Bombardier believes a smooth ride is an important benefit to be had in the right aircraft. The company created a small wing-ride demonstration for trade shows that they demonstrated for Flying yesterday at Las Vegas Henderson Field. The Canadian aircraft builder wanted the demo to show customers why a smooth ride aloft in the Global family of airplanes is more than a marketing slogan.
Bombardier’s Smooth Ride is No Accident
Key Takeaways:
- Bombardier emphasizes that a smooth ride is a key benefit for business jet passengers and attributes this to the innovative wing design of its Global aircraft family.
- The Global aircraft achieve a smoother flight, even in turbulence, due to a combination of high wing loading (less wing area exposed to bumps) and increased wing flexibility (long, slender wings that absorb impact).
- Bombardier created a physical wing-flex demonstration to visually illustrate to customers how their specific wing design contributes to the superior, smoother flight experience of the Global 6000/7000.
