A pair of gliders participating in a soaring competition recently near Gransden, England, north of London collided, leading to an emergency landing by one and a bailout by the pilot of the other.
According to a BBC report, a glider with two people aboard was damaged in the collision but managed to land safely in a field. The pilot of the other glider, a single-seater, was forced to jump from the aircraft and was located a short time later with minor injuries dangling by his parachute from a farmhouse.
