Key Takeaways:

  • GAMI has begun selling Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) for G100UL, the first and only approved high-octane unleaded avgas solution for all general aviation piston aircraft.
  • The STCs cost approximately the price of a full tank of avgas (e.g., ~$600 for some aircraft), with an early adoption rebate available until March 31st.
  • While G100UL fuel is estimated to be slightly more expensive (60-85 cents/gallon), GAMI anticipates this cost will be offset by lower maintenance expenses due to a cleaner burn.
  • Initial fuel rollout will start in California later this year, with national availability projected by 2026, as the industry aims to safely eliminate leaded aviation fuel by 2030.
