As Honda Aircraft Company closes in on FAA certification for the much-anticipated HondaJet, the company has taken delivery of a simulator that will help train the operators of the light twinjet at the headquarters in Greensboro, North Carolina. The full motion, Level D simulator as well as a HondaJet-specific training program were developed by Honda Aircraft in partnership with FlightSafety International. The sim itself will be FAA and EASA certified and was constructed at FlightSafety's facility in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

Honda Aircraft is now hard at work installing the new sim at the HondaJet Training Center. "The HondaJet flight simulator will be an invaluable training tool in preparing pilots to operate the world's most advanced light jet," said Honda Aircraft Company president and CEO Michimasa Fujino. "It is part of a customized training program that will use the latest technologies to create a learning experience that is engaging and real to life."

In addition to being used for pilots transitioning to the HondaJet to achieve the required type rating, Honda Aircraft will offer recurrent training in the simulator. The HondaJet panel offers Garmin's G3000 integrated flight deck with three 14-inch screens and touch-screen capabilities.
