Tecnam Aircraft came away from AERO 22 in Friedrichshafen with 85 sales in the order book.
The top seller was the single-engine P-Mentor, which made its debut this year, followed by
P2010 TDI, and the super luxury “Gran Lusso” version, which also premiered at AERO 22. According to Tecnam, the P-Mentor is proving to be a favorite at flight schools around the world as the two-place aircraft is capable of both IFR and VFR operations.
The P-Mentor features a Rotax 912iSc combined with an MT constant-speed propeller, autopilot, simulated retractable gear control and BRS airframe parachute. The aircraft manufacturer says more orders are likely to follow, as the Tecnam is implemented by flight schools worldwide.
“We are delighted to see how the market is following Tecnam’s vision of aviation. Many customers are replacing their aging fleet with new, modern, sustainable solutions,” ays Tecnam’s managing director Giovanni Pascale in a statement.
“Private customers are demanding this new level of luxury that Tecnam can offer. To be successful in aviation you have to always be on the latest edge of innovation and in this way, we are shaping a new future for aviation.”
During AERO in Friedrichshafen, visitors to the Tecnam booth had a chance to see the entire line of Tecnam models including the Sierra MkII, the P2008JC, the P-Mentor, the Tecnam twin, the P2006T, and the P2010 Gran Lusso powered by a CD-170 Continental diesel engine.
A corner of the Tecnam display was dedicated to the “Soar Greener” manifesto, explaining how Tecnam is contributing to a “green” future for aviation. In addition, the Tecnam P2010 parallel hybrid H3PS was displayed at Rolls-Royce booth and a P2010 TDI was on display at the Continental Engines booth.
According to Tecnam officials, their success at AERO is partly the result of Tecnam’s strategy to offer student pilots the most modern training aircraft, which provide a complete solution from ab-initio to a multi-engine rating. Choosing a Tecnam fleet solution for training is also a great deal for the environment. Recent study shows that flight schools operating with Tecnam single- and multiengine fleet can reduce emissions by up to 60 percent: 10 tons of CO2 for each student by the time they receive their commercial pilot certificate or license.
