King Schools Offers Free Crosswind Course

Expanding library of King courses available for free.

Are you intimidated by crosswinds? Do you want to learn more about how to master them without having to pay an instructor? While we always advocate learning with the safety of an instructor in the right seat, you now have an opportunity to get some free tips and gain a better understanding of crosswind landing techniques through King School’s free Crosswind Landings Made Easy.

The video course features Martha King explaining the aerodynamics behind crosswind landings and John King demonstrating the techniques from the cockpit. “Countless pilots have told us they never understood crosswind landings until they watched this video,” John King said.

Currently there is one more course, Non-Towered Airport Communications, available in King Schools’ expanding library of free short courses. The video courses can be viewed through a web browser on a PC, Mac or mobile device. “We hope pilots enjoy these courses with our compliments,” John King said.

The videos are also available on the King Companion App for iOS devices. Videos can be downloaded directly to the app and watched even if the iPad or iPhone loses its Internet connection. Quizzes are also accessible without an Internet connection and any progress made within a course will be saved once the connection is reestablished. This way, the user can switch from one device to another without losing track of the progress of the course.
