Midair Between Cessna 150 and Glider Kills Four

Crash occurred over crowded campground.

Four people and a dog were killed on Saturday when a Cessna 150 and a two-seat glider collided in midair near a popular campground in Pemberton, British Columbia.

The crash occurred around 1:00 p.m., and all four people aboard the two aircraft were declared dead at the scene.

Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang at the time of the accident, before seeing debris spread across a broad area. Despite the large debris field, no one on the ground has been reported as injured.

Canada’s Transportation Safety board is currently investigating the incident.

Another glider accident on Saturday, which occurred around the same time in San Diego, killed two men. The glider was towed to 100 feet when the wire released, after which it went out of control and impacted the ground.
