Thrust Flight School takes off in North Texas

Denison, Texas, sees the return of flight training at North Texas Regional Airport.

Thrust Flight School announced a new location at North Texas Regional Airport (KGYI) in Denison, Texas, this week. They are the first flight school to take off at NTRA since U.S. Aviation left last year.

School Details

The school focuses on turning out safe and well-trained pilots from an accelerated timeline, advertising zero hours to a private pilot certificate in as little as three weeks.

The Addison-based school has a program called Zero Time to Airline. In just 10 months, a student could have their private pilot certificate, instrument rating, commercial certificate, CFI, CFII, and multiengine rating.

During their time at Thrust, students can fly a fleet of traditional training aircraft, such as Cessna 172s, Piper Archers, and Piper Seminoles. Some of the training will be completed in Frasca flight training devices.

Once a student acquires their CFI, they can move to instructing for the school to build time towards the standard airline requirement of 1,500 hours.

Program Highlights

Thrust Flight School has many airline partnerships, which give students the opportunity to obtain conditional employment offers before reaching 1,500 flight hours. Some airlines that Thrust works with include:

  • SkyWest
  • Envoy
  • Republic Airways

Thrust is a Flight Training Affiliate with Liberty University, which means students can flight train in a Part 141 program with Thrust Flight while earning their degree online with Liberty University.

The all-inclusive price of the Zero Time to Airline program is $88,995. For students looking for ways to pay for flight school, Thrust Flight offers in-house financing options and scholarships.

Thrust Flight said they hope to welcome in their first class of students around December or January. They expect between 100 to 120 students.
