Video: Parade of Planes Takes to Streets of Palm Springs

City streets closed off for aviation cavalcade.

Flying Aviation Expo got off to a successful start yesterday as more than 50 aircraft participated in the highly anticipated Parade of Planes from the Palm Springs International Airport to the convention center downtown.

City streets were cordoned off as thousands lined the parade route to see the variety of general aviation airplanes participating in the mile-long procession. Led by Flying Editor-in-Chief Robert Goyer in his Cirrus SR22, the parade included some amazing GA aircraft (at least, amazing to see taxiing through Palm Springs), including a Pilatus PC-12, Eclipse 550 twinjet, Epic LT single-engine turboprop, Glasair Sportsman diesel and many more.

They’re all on display outside the Palm Springs Convention Center for the three-day Aviation Expo, which officially opened its doors today.

Check out the video below for a taste of the one-of-a-kind parade.
