Video: F-16 Extreme Low Approach Thrills Spectators

Scenes like this one at RAF Waddington are all part of the show.

A Turkish F-16 landing at the Waddington Airshow in England sent spectators scurrying for cover as the fighter skimmed over the tops of heads during an extremely low approach. It was a repeat of a similar scene at RAF Waddington last summer, when a Eurofighter Typhoon flew within feet of the airport perimeter fence while landing at the show.

This time around the crowd was larger and seemed to know what was coming. Several spectators hit the deck, but even more stood motionless to experience what it’s like to have a 20,000-pound fighter jet come so close that you can almost reach up and touch it.
