Robert Goyer Named Bonnier Editor of the Year

Recognized for strides in print and on web.

Flying Magazine Editor-in-Chief Robert Goyer has been named Editor of the Year by parent company Bonnier Corp., a publisher of nearly 40 consumer magazines in the United States.

Judges singled out Goyer for “significantly advancing the way Flying leverages content to increase audience size and engagement on the brand’s website, social media, eNews and tablet edition.”

A longtime fixture on Flying‘s masthead, Goyer assumed the role of Editor-in-Chief in 2010. Since then he has overseen a complete redesign of the print magazine, the introduction of a cutting-edge tablet edition and exponential growth in traffic for the magazine’s flyingmag.com website.

Presented on Monday night at the Orlando Museum of Art in Florida, the Bonnier awards also included Brand of the Year Saveur and Designer of the Year Sean Johnston of the Outdoor Group, which includes Field & Stream.
