Ocean Reef’s Vintage Weekend Celebrates Rare Aircraft, Cars and Yachts

Annual event brought great turnout of world's rarest conveyances.

Scores of classic cars, boats and airplanes recently descended on Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Florida, for the 19th annual Vintage Weekend, an event that celebrates immaculately preserved machines of past eras.

The event drew countless rare conveyances in every category, making Ocean Reef an antique-lover’s paradise for the four-day long experience. Some of the more eye-catching vehicles showcased included an early 20th century fire truck, a one-of-a-kind array of flawlessly maintained Auburns and a 1943 Howard DGA 15P, which won the award for best in show in the aircraft category.

Other aircraft on hand included a 1952 Corsair brought by the Collings Foundation, a pair of T-28s, a Grumman OV-1 Mohawk, a few Decathlons, Stearmans and a couple of pristine Piper Super Cubs, among others.

In addition to a car and yacht show, attendees were treated to a beachside airshow on Saturday that included several different aerobatic performances.

Thanks to beautiful Key Largo weather and a great turnout, this year’s Vintage Weekend was one of the best yet. Ocean Reef organizers are already gearing up for next year’s Vintage Weekend, which will mark the 20th anniversary of the event.
