High Flying Cocktails

Catering company offers unique drink recipes packaged for service on business jets.

Here’s an inflight service that is clearly not for the pilots. A London-based gourmet catering company called AP on Air has launched a series of cocktails to quench the thirst of high fliers. And these are not any old screwdrivers or rum and cokes. With names like sora, gotham, autumn and zephyr, the cocktails, which were created by Pontoon Cocktails, use rare ingredients such as plum liqueur, whole cranberry vacuum infused vodka, damson jam syrup and orgeat, an almond-flavored syrup.

The drinks are conveniently packaged in pouches and delivered frozen to maintain freshness, and each drink is accompanied with appropriate garnishes and a flash card with serving instructions. A minimum of five cocktails must be ordered per flight. Non-alcoholic options are also available.

While most of the company’s business is comprised of private jet charter flights in Europe, AP on Air has partnered with Atlanta-based Tastefully Yours Catering (TYC) for clients in the U.S. market.
