FBO Spotlight: Showalter Flying Service (KORL)

This Orlando FBO is a must-visit.

In our FBO Spotlight series, we’re highlighting FBOs around the country that have received rave reviews. This latest Spotlight is brought to you by our Editor-in-Chief, Robert Goyer, who recently flew into Orlando Executive Airport (KORL) in his Cirrus SR22. Here’s what he has to say about one of the airport’s FBOs, Showalter Flying Service.

Showalter Flying Service (KORL)
Orlando, Florida

I’ve been coming to Showalter’s for nearly 20 years now, and a recent trip to the home office in Central Florida took me to Orlando Executive once again. I called Showalter’s the night before, reserved a car and let them know I’d be leaving my Cirrus with them for a couple of days. When in Orlando on business, Exec is the most convenient destination (Kissimmee is my preferred destination when going to Disney with the family), but even though it’s a busy airspace environment top side, once you’re on the ground, the folks at Showalter’s make you feel at home with real Southern hospitality. As always, the service there was beyond great, and I enjoyed my free cayenne pepper brownie with my fill up. (I know, but it was good!) I don’t know how the Showalters do it, but they have a knack for finding people to work for them who are friendly, fun and who go out of their way to make sure you and your airplane have everything you need.
