This latest Spotlight is brought to you by Jim Sankey, who recently flew into Portsmouth International Airport at Pease in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, in a Piper Archer III. Here’s what he had to say about one of the airport’s FBOs, Port City Air:
“I was asked by two colleagues if I would fly them from KCKZ to KPSM to look at two trucks they were considering purchasing. We departed KCKZ at 0600 and landed at KPSM at 0815. When I was turning onto the ramp, a Marshaller was already waiting to direct me to parking, he then immediately chocked the plane and asked if I needed anything. I told him to top her off and we’d only be staying for a few hours. The facility looked immaculate from the outside. We entered the building and were promptly welcomed in a very professional manner. They made us feel like we were long-time customers. They offered coffee, and when they noticed the pot was empty they immediately brewed a pot. I filled out the plane register and again instructed them to top it off. The coffee was quite tasty for “FBO joe,” and the half and half was fresh, not the powdered stuff. We were awaiting a lift to our destination and the manager was outside and he asked us if we wanted a car. I politely declined and told him our ride was here. We came back about two hours later, the plane was full and we’d met the same people with a great welcoming smile. The entire experience was a real pleasure. The facility was modern and stellar and immaculately clean. This was my first trip to KPSM. I will be back. The business model of PCA would be a good one for others to follow. They treated us like we’d just flew in with a G650 and were getting 1000 gallons, not the Piper Archer III we’d flown in with. I would give them an A+. Well done PCA!”
