FBO Spotlight: Hutchinson County Airport (KBGD)

Flying reader Carol Bailey writes in about the great Texas-style hospitality shown at this FBO.

In our FBO Spotlight series, we’re highlighting FBOs around the country that have received rave reviews from our readers. This latest Spotlight is brought to you by Carol Bailey, who flew into Hutchinson County Airport earlier this year in a Cessna 182 while on her way to the 2011 Air Race Classic. Here’s what she has to say about the FBO.

Hutchinson County Airport (KBGD)
Borger, Texas

“I was competing in the 2011 Air Race Classic, and one of our stops was Borger, Texas. I was flying in a Cessna 182 with two other women, and we decided that BGD would be our overnight stop. That was definitely a great choice – what a delight the personnel staffing the racestop at the FBO were!!! They received us ladies warmly, had well-stocked refreshments at the beautiful and newly remodeled FBO, and just went out of their way to show us Texas-style hospitality! Bev, Tom, Sonny, Robert and the rest of the gang took care of us, shuttled us to and from our hotels and local restaurants, and made us racers feel like part of their families. The Race was an unforgettable adventure, but the volunteers at Borger made us feel that much more special!”
