FBO Spotlight: Galveston Aviation Services (KGLS)

One Flying reader's take on this Galveston FBO.

Galveston Aviation Services (KGLS)
Galveston, Texas

In our FBO Spotlight series, we’re highlighting FBOs around the country that have received rave reviews from our readers. The latest Spotlight is brought to you by Rob Maas, who recently flew into KGLS in a Cessna Cardinal.

“KGLS took a direct hit in 2008 from Hurricane Ike and the FBO and terminal were destroyed. GAS took over last year and the art deco terminal has been rebuilt and looks great. I flew in last week and the pleasant lineman tied my Cardinal down and walked my family off the Tarmac and over to a cool terminal area and provided bottles of water. With a small child, and lots of beach luggage, their offer of a cart and unloading assistance was appreciated. As well, the airplane was ready to go when we came back a few days later and we were offered the same smiling great service. They offer to arrange for rental cars or shuttle you to Moody Gardens or the Lone Star Flight Museum, both are very close to the airport. I also like that the folks in the control tower are always pleasant and helpful. Pretty nice service from a resort airport!”
