Disney Planes Sequel Coming this Summer

New film casts Dusty as aerial firefighter.

Dusty Crophopper and his flying friends are returning to the big screen this summer in a sequel to the hit Disney movie Planes.

This time Dusty shifts gears from air racing to aerial firefighting in Planes: Fire & Rescue. In the sequel, due to hit theaters July 18, Dusty joins forces with veteran fire and rescue helicopter Blade Ranger and his team, a crew of all-terrain vehicles known as the Smokejumpers. Together, the fearless team battles a massive wildfire.

Comedian Dane Cook returns to voice Dusty, who is joined by “Dipper,” a yellow-and-red water bomber voiced by “Modern Family” star Julie Bowen.

Disney planned the sequel even before Planes hit theaters last summer. That’s looking like a smart move after the original movie brought in $220 million worldwide.

Based on the trailer, this looks like another Disney flick pilots and their kids won’t want to miss.
