Winglets Coming to Hawker 750

Technology yields improvements in range and time-to-climb.

__Continuing a trend that is sweeping business aviation, Hawker Beechcraft says it has developed an aftermarket retrofit kit allowing the installation of blended winglets on the Hawker 750. The modification will add 100 miles to the airplaneā€™s range and improve time-to-climb by 5 percent, the company says. An effective increase in the wing aspect ratio resulting from the addition of winglets should also enhance stability at altitude, reduce lift-induced drag and improve low-speed handling.

ā€œThis product improvement is an obvious and logical offering for us to make available because it fits directly in line with our goals of providing products that reduce operating costs for our customers,ā€ says Christi Tannahill, Hawker Beechcraft vice president for global customer solutions. Most of the necessary hardware and installation procedures, she added, have already been developed for the Hawker 800/900 series, which should smooth the process on the 750.
