SATSair Discontinues Service

Greenville, South Carolina-based SATSair has quit flying. The company used a fleet of Cirrus SR22s in what had been an apparently successful air-taxi model. But last week, the company cited “a combination of circumstances” and suspended flights, including those that had been previously booked. Customers were told they would be notified if SATSair were to resume operations. Besides operating a large fleet of piston-powered Cirruses, SATSair was to have been one of the launch customers for the Cirrus single-engine jet, as announced last year at EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh. Earlier this month, Cirrus closed the hangar where development of the jet was focused.
