Piper Begins Deliveries of Warriors to Indonesia

New trainers will help grow Indonesia’s air transport system.

Piper made the first six deliveries of an 18-airplane order to Sekolah Tinggi Penerbang Indonesia, a government flight school which is located in Budiarto Airport in Curug, Indonesia. The school already operates a number of training airplanes, including a Piper Dakota and a Beechcraft Baron. The Warrior fleet buy, said Piper’s Brunei-based director of global fleet sales Chuck Glass, will help the school train more pilots to meet the country’s growing need for air transportation.

Indonesia is the world’s fourth-largest country by population, and is made up of more than 17,000 islands. It does have, according to Piper, more than 700 airports, which puts it in the top 10 worldwide in that category.
