NBAA Wraps Up Successful Las Vegas Convention

Business aviation convention beats expectations.

NBAA 2015 is in the books after the doors closed for good yesterday on a show that featured an abundance of big news stories to go along with the big crowds.

The National Business Aviation Association said more than 27,000 attendees visited the show, where 1,100 exhibitors occupied around a million square feet of space inside the Las Vegas Convention Center. The show also included more than 100 airplanes at Henderson Executive Airport and in a static display area on the show floor.

NBAA’s fight against user fees that are a part of a proposed plan in Congress to privatize ATC took center stage as the association urged visitors to contact their representatives in Washington to oppose the plan.

The big news stories at the show included the launch of a new large cabin jet, the Cessna Citation Hemisphere, a fleet order for 20 Aerion supersonic business jets from fractional provider Flexjet, and a new GA turboprop engine to take on the venerable Pratt & Whitney PT6.

Next year’s NBAA Convention will be held November 1-3 in Orlando, Florida.
