NBAA Releases Guidelines for Expense Reimbursements

New booklet provides clarity for owner pilots.

You may, like me, have been in situations where you were confused about whether you could legally get reimbursed for your flight expenses. If you’re looking for answers, NBAA’s Reimbursement for Flight Expenses for Owner-Pilots Handbook, fresh off the presses, can help.

“This guide provides much-needed clarity on the regulations and legal interpretations covering reimbursements of flight expenses, such as airplane fuel costs, which is particularly important to owner-operators,” said Mike Nichols, NBAA’s vice president of operations, education & economics.

The booklet contains regulatory information for Commercial and Private owner pilots, including a breakdown of the rules in an easy to read chart format, and examples to clarify the concepts. Information includes guidelines for charitable flights, employer reimbursements, and sharing of flight expenses.
