The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) said it has changed the name of its 66-year-old Annual Meeting & Convention to the Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (BACE).
The association said the name change brings NBAA’s largest convention into alignment with the other annual shows it hosts — the European EBACE in Geneva and the Asian ABACE in Shanghai. A fourth show, LABACE, is held each year in Latin America.
“NBAA’s largest U.S. show has up to this point been referred to as an ‘annual meeting,’ but in recent decades it has grown in size and importance to be much more than just a meeting, and this change reflects that reality,” said Ed Bolen, NBAA President and CEO.
First held in September 1947, the NBAA annual convention has since grown into one of the largest trade shows in the United States. The event draws about 25,000 attendees each year and more than 1,000 exhibitors in more than 1 million square feet of exhibit floor space. The event, held each fall in Orlando, Florida, Las Vegas or Atlanta, also features a static display of nearly every aircraft type in production.
This year BACE will be held in Las Vegas on October 22-24.
