The Web of legal intrigue surrounding Epic Air continues to grow in complexity - and monetary value. New lawsuits filed against the company have been filed, and charges leveled at principals of the company. Epic had developed sophisticated kit planes designed to be built on a company site by customers. It is estimated that Epic owes customers up to $15 million and has no funds to repay its debts. The factory building in Bend, Oregon, is closed with as many as a dozen unfinished aircraft inside. In a recent court filing, Epic customer Doug King has requested that the Chapter 11 proceedings be moved from Nevada to Oregon, to be closer to the remaining company assets and possible witnesses. So far, former Epic CEO Rick Schramek has remained out of touch.
