Marijuana-packed Twin Crashes at Houston Executive

Manhunt on after pilot abandons airplane.

Authorities are searching for the pilot or pilots of a marijuana-filled Beechcraft Duke that made a hard landing and skidded off the runway Monday night at Houston Executive Airport in Brookshire, Texas.

The twin-engine airplane touched down at around 7:15 p.m. at the uncontrolled airport located 30 miles west of Houston. Investigators said it appears the Beech’s front nose gear was damaged in the landing, causing it to collapse before the airplane skidded off the runway into the grass.

By the time emergency crews arrived at the field, the pilot was gone. But the cargo was left inside – a large load of marijuana. Investigators told local news outlets it appears whoever was on board tried to carry the bricks of marijuana off the airplane, but left a “significant amount” behind before fleeing the scene.

Multiple law enforcement agencies have begun a manhunt to find the suspect or suspects who were on the airplane, but so far they have come up empty handed. Investigators are now working with the FAA and Department of Homeland Security to find the owner of the airplane.
