Gulfstream Rolls Out Two New Ones: the G650 and G250

Gulfstream G250

Last week, the latest and largest Gulfstream – the G650 – rolled out of the factory in Savannah, Georgia. And on Tuesday, the company’s all-new super midsize jet – the G250 – also joined the limelight, rolling out at the Israel Aircraft Industries factory in Tel Aviv, Israel. The G650 is not only the largest Gulfstream ever built, it’s the newest and fastest, with an all-new wing, larger cabin, and longer range – up to 7,000 nautical miles at Mach .85. High-speed cruise is Mach .925. First deliveries of the 3,400-nm-range (at Mach .80) G250 are expected in 2011 – a year later for the G650. Both new models were launched during business aviation’s halcyon days, well before last year’s economic meltdown, but Gulfstream’s order books have held strong.
