EAA to Separate From Instructors’ Group

The Experimental Aircraft Association announced it has begun the process of cutting direct ties with the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI). The instructors’ group will become a fully independent association by March next year. Beginning in 1995, EAA hosted NAFI, sharing office space, administrative functions and other infrastructure. EAA chairman and president Tom Poberezny said, “EAA will continue its focus on events and initiatives aimed a growing participation across the whole aviation community, such as the recent International Learn to Fly Day, expanded flight instruction opportunities for youth, and the Learn to Fly Discovery Center at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.” NAFI chairman Ken Hoffman said, “We truly appreciate all that EAA has done for NAFI and pledge to work hard to work with EAA to serve our mutual interests, which are many.”
