Cessna Employees Give $25,000 in Support of Wounded Vets

Donation will go to transport wounded warriors through the Veterans Airlift Command.

Employees at one of GA’s largest airplane manufacturers recently put their collective might together for a good cause, raising $25,000 in a fundraising effort benefiting the Veterans Airlift Command, a non-profit that transports injured veterans and their families with the help of volunteer pilots and aircraft owners.

Cessna made the donation on behalf of its employees last week at Sun ‘n Fun, where the company was also showcasing its Citation Mustang known as American Patriot, an aircraft specifically designated to fly missions for the VAC.

The $25,000 fundraising effort was accomplished by Cessna employees through the purchase of more than 2,000 commemorative shirts celebrating American Patriot, which, adorned in a distinctive red, white and blue paint scheme, was unveiled last November and has since escorted a number of veterans wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
