Cessna announced last week that the Citation Ten is on schedule to make its first flight by the end of 2011. Deliveries of the midsize jet are expected to begin in the latter half of 2013.** **
According to Cessna, the Citation Ten has a new design and performance capabilities that allow it “to fly higher, faster and further than the existing Citation X (Model 750).”
With a maximum takeoff weight of 36,600 pounds, the Citation Ten will reach a top cruising speed of 527 knots. Cessna touted the fact that, with a maximum range of 3,245 nautical miles, the power provided by the aircraft’s dual Rolls-Royce AE 3007C2 engines put city pairings such as New York to London and London to Dubai within reach.
In addition to the upgraded performance specs, The Citation Ten is 15 inches longer than the Citation X, allowing for greater legroom in the double-club cabin. The aircraft also comes fully equipped with the Garmin G5000 avionics suite.
Cessna first announced the Citation Ten last October at the 2010 NBAA convention.
