Boeing iPad App Showcases 95+ Years of History

The company’s first iPad app takes users back to the beginning.

History buffs and Boeing enthusiasts alike can now retrace more than 95 years of Boeing history through the company’s first ever iPad app, released on Monday.

The app takes users back to the company’s roots, which took hold in 1916 with the construction of the first B & W, a two-seat seaplane used for airmail deliveries.

An interactive timeline replete with great photos and video takes users through the company’s lengthy list of milestones since then, concluding with the first delivery of the 787 Dreamliner in 2011.

“This is the history of Boeing as a digital coffee table book,” said Boeing’s Vice President of Brand and Advertising Fritz Johnston in a recent statement.

Over that lengthy history, Boeing has morphed into an aviation giant, employing more than 170,000 individuals throughout the world.

The company’s “Milestones in Innovation” app is available for free download at the iTunes store.
