Lineup Set for New York-Area Wings and Wheels Expo

Several notable historic airplanes, including the B-17 Aluminum Overcast, will be on hand for the Flying-sponsored show at Caldwell Airport in New Jersey, September 23-24.

We’re just a month away from the New York area’s highly anticipated Wings & Wheels Expo 2017, which will be held September 23 and 24 at Essex County Airport in New Jersey and feature a full lineup of aircraft and classic cars to satisfy the curiosity of gearheads of all ages.

Presented by the Aviation Hall of Fame and Museum of New Jersey and sponsored by Flying magazine, the event will include rides in EAA’s historic B-17 Aluminum Overcast and an appearance by a replica Japanese Aichi D3A torpedo bomber that’s not to be missed. Helicopter rides will also be available throughout the show.

The expo will feature plenty of classic cars, trucks and military vehicles, as well as a vendor area with food, games for kids and more. All the proceeds from the weekend event will benefit the Hall of Fame and its aviation museum at Teterboro Airport.

Price of admission to the Wings & Wheels Expo is $10 for adults and $8 for children 5-12 and seniors over 62. Rides in Aluminum Overcast, available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, cost $435 for EAA members and $475 for non-members. Admission to the show cars on Saturday and Sunday is $20 per carload. Pilots who wish to display unusual aircraft in the Wings area can arrange to do so for free by contacting [email protected].
