Garmin’s G1000 NXi Now Certified on Piper M350 and M500

Avionics suite will also be available on older single-engine cabin aircraft.

Piper Aircraft‘s M350 pressurized single-engine piston aircraft, as well as the turboprop powered M500, can now take advantage of Garmin’s updated G1000 NXi avionics suite. The Vero Beach aircraft builder plans to offer NXi as an STC retrofit on the G1000 equipped Matrix, now called the M350 and the Meridian, the current M500.

The G1000 NXi system offers wireless cockpit connectivity, enhanced situational awareness, visual approaches and map overlays on the horizontal situation indicator. NXi also brings faster processing power to supports improved map rendering and smoother panning throughout the displays. The updated Garmin G1000 NXi features options like SurfaceWatch, Flight Stream 510 and improved ADS-B when using the GTX 345 in the next generation M350 and M500 Piper products.

In addition to the NXi-equipped M-class and trainer products already flying, Piper said the Seneca V will receive the NXi upgrade later this year. Seneca V deliveries are expected to begin in Q4 2018.
