Fly a Drone at AirVenture Oshkosh

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh welcomes back the popular Drone Cage Obstacle and Speed Course.

If you’re going to be strolling the grounds of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh and you’ve ever had the itch to fly a drone, or maybe just learn a little more about them, then you’re in luck. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is bringing back the popular Drone Cage Obstacle and Speed Course for those wanted to test their joystick skills.

Maybe the thought of flying a quadcopter is too intimidating, at least at first, and they’ve thought of you too. Onlookers will enjoy a new vantage point by watching the action from 360-degree viewing platforms, as well as a live feed provided by drone maker DJI.

The challenge will run daily from 3 to 5 p.m. inside the Drone Cage at Aviation Gateway Park. Attendees can use one of the quadcopters provided by Phil’s Hobby Shop or Horizon Hobby, Inc.

Sign up for the AirVenture Drone Cage Obstacle Course will be available onsite at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University booth. Winners of the daily course challenge will receive awards donated by Etched Memory, LLC.
