Smaller Garmin G3X Touch Introduced

7-inch system introduced for experimental and light sport aircraft.

The engineers at Garmin’s Team X have come up with yet another product to benefit pilots of amateur-built and light sport aircraft. Just a few months after the Olathe, Kansas-based company launched the G3X Touch, a smaller version of the system has been released.

The new G3X Touch has a 7-inch screen, providing an option for pilots of airplanes that don’t have much panel space for avionics systems. Some pilots with larger panels may also choose to install three of the 7-inch screens or mix and match with the 10.6-inch G3X Touch display option.

The system comes loaded with features such as VFR and IFR charts, SafeTaxi airport diagrams, FlightCharts terminal procedures and synthetic vision. SiriusXM Aviation weather and radio can also be added.

The new panel mounted product also integrates Garmin’s new Connext, allowing its users to merge the system with a portable device via Bluetooth to upload flight plans that have been entered into the Garmin Pilot aviation app.

Pilots can also control Garmin’s experimental autopilot and integrate the Virb camera and view a live video stream on the G3X. The touch screen can integrate up to 10 Virb cameras simultaneously to take pictures and turn the video feature on and off.

The cost for the 7-inch G3X Touch starts at $4,599 not including antennas and connector kits.

Earlier this year, we flew the Garmin G3X Touch. Watch the video below.
