King Schools Launches Companion App

New iPad app helps students study on the road.

San Diego-based King Schools has launched a new app to help pilots make studying easier on the go. The new King Schools Companion app allows students access to their King Schools courses on an iPad or iPhone.

Students simply need to download the Companion app from the App Store. Then they can log in using the same username and password that they use on the King Schools iLearn website and the courses become accessible within the app. A Wi-Fi connection is required to access the videos within the programs to minimize the space requirement for the app. But once downloaded the videos stay in the app and can be accessed anywhere without an Internet connection. The videos can be quickly unloaded with one tap once they have been watched if the space is needed for other data.

The knowledge test courses for Private Pilot, Instrument Pilot and Commercial Pilot certificates are currently available on the Companion app. In the next few months, several additional courses will be added, said King Schools’ senior vice president of marketing and technology Barry Knuttila.
