John King and Rod Machado to Face Off in Flying Aviation Expo Live Debate

The well-known aviation educators will go head-to-head in Palm Springs discussing the FAA’s new Airman Certification Standards.

Some big changes are coming to this year’s Flying Aviation Expo, but one thing that won’t change is the abundance of educational seminars and panels featuring leaders from around the industry.

One of the highlights is sure to be the first-ever live debate between Flying magazine contributor John King and AOPA Pilot‘s Rod Machado, who will square off over the merits and pitfalls of the FAA’s new Airman Certification Standards. The discussion between the two longtime aviation educators, each of whom has a passionate stance on the subject, promises to be both spirited and informative.

Be sure not to miss the live event at Palm Springs International Airport at noon on Saturday, October 22.

The debate will be moderated by Flying magazine Editor-in-Chief Stephen Pope.
