Piper Seminole Certified for Garmin GFC 700

Twin-engine airplane incorporates GFC 700 into G1000 avionics.

The Piper Seminole is the latest to achieve type certificate change approval from the FAA to integrate the Garmin GFC 700 autopilot in the Garmin G1000-equipped piston-powered aircraft.

With an Attitude and Heading Reference System (AHRS)-based automatic flight control system that provides flight director, autopilot, yaw damper, automatic and manual electric trim capabilities, the GFC 700 offers flight automation and precision to various GA airplanes. The GFC 700 is fully integrated with the G1000 glass flight deck, which Piper Seminoles got approval for last year.

Earlier this year the Garmin’s GFC 700 was certified for the Piper Seneca V.

The Piper Seminole is powered by two Lycoming L/O -360-A1H6 engines. Equipped with the Garmin G1000, Piper Seminole pricing starts at $683,400.
