OpenAirplane Partners with Cirrus

Fly Cirrus airplanes around the country.

Pilots who undergo training through Cirrus’ approved flight training program, Cirrus Approach, can now take advantage of OpenAirplane’s growing network of rental facilities. This allows new Cirrus owners and pilots who have trained with a Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot (CSIP) to gain access to Cirrus airplanes that are part of OpenAirplane centers around the country.

Once the training program is complete, pilots need to create a profile on OpenAirplane’s website and have their training documentation verified. Rental privileges will continue for a time period of six months after the completion of the training, at which point a currency flight will need to be completed with an OpenAirplane-approved flight instructor.

The rental privilege applies to Cirrus’ airplanes of the same model in which the training was conducted. There are currently a total of 255 airplanes located at more than 70 airports around the United States.
