Sebring Sport Aviation Expo Focuses on ‘Affordable’ Aircraft

Popular event showcases lighter side of GA.

The U.S. Sport Aviation Expo kicks off tomorrow in Sebring, Florida, with a renewed emphasis on showcasing dozens of affordable light aircraft including LSAs, Experimentals and even refurbished airplanes.

On display for the first time at the Expo will be AOPA’s “Reimagined 152,” a partnership with Aviat to build and sell fully refurbed Cessna 152s for around $100,000 a copy, as well as the Triple R Affordable Aircraft initiative, spearheaded by AvWeb publisher Tom Bliss to refurbish a range of GA models.

More than 120 exhibitors will be at the show, which runs through Saturday, Jan. 17. Last year’s Expo drew more than 18,000 attendees, organizers said.
