Embraer Delivers First NetJets Phenom 300

Fractional giant places big bet on Brazilian model.

Embraer is making good on a potential $1 billion order from fractional ownership giant NetJets with the delivery yesterday of the first of up to 125 Phenom 300 light jets.

The delivery at Embraer’s new factory in Melbourne, Florida, represents the first airplane in a blockbuster deal signed in October 2010 that included 50 firm orders and 75 options for NetJets’ Signature Series Phenom 300s. The airplanes feature special paint schemes, advanced inflight entertainment systems and custom cabin designs. The Phenoms will join NetJets’ worldwide fleet of more than 700 light, midsize and large-cabin jets.

“We are pleased to partner with Embraer to deliver our customers the NetJets Signature Series Phenom 300, an outstanding light-cabin jet designed exclusively for NetJets,” said Jordan Hansell, NetJets Chairman and CEO. “The high-performance aircraft is ideally suited to our customers’ needs for safety, reliability, interior comfort and operating efficiency.”

The NetJets Signature Series Phenom 300 includes the Prodigy Touch Flight Deck, based on the brand new Garmin G3000 avionics system. The Phenom cabin includes features developed exclusively for NetJets with seating for seven passengers, a full refreshment center, a customized galley, Wi-Fi Internet access and a fully enclosed aft lavatory.

Production of the NetJets Signature Series Phenom 300 will be moved from Brazil to Melbourne next year.
