Cessna Citation M2 and Sovereign+ Certified

Cessna begins deliveries after receiving green light.

Cessna has extra reason to celebrate this holiday season after announcing the recent FAA certification of both the new Citation M2 and the Citation Sovereign+.

The Cessna Citation M2 was first introduced in the fall of 2011 and intended as a step-up for Citation Mustang owners. Priced at $4.4 million, the M2 features Garmin G3000 avionics, a max cruise speed of 400 knots and a range of 1,300 nm. Flying flew the M2 recently — check out the flight report here.

The Citation Sovereign+, meanwhile, is an improved version of Cessna’s original Sovereign, which has been in service since 2004. Key improvements include the addition of winglets, Garmin G5000 avionics, autothrottles, a range of 3,000 nm and a top speed of 458 knots, the latter two of which come thanks to the midsize jet’s new Pratt & Whitney Canada PW306D engines.
