Cessna Citation Latitude Gains FAA Type Certificate

Deliveries to begin in Q3.

Cessna’s Citation Latitude business twinjet has achieved FAA type certification, clearing the way for deliveries to start later this summer as parent company Textron Aviation continues a rapid succession of new airplane introductions in the last year and a half.

Based on the Citation Sovereign type certificate but featuring big changes just about everywhere from tip to tail, the Latitude is the first Citation to offer a flat-floor, stand-up cabin, offering seating for up to nine passengers.

The Latitude is the fifth new Citation jet certified in the last 18 months. A sixth, the Citation Longitude, is expected to follow in 2017.

Carrying a price of $16.25 million, the Latitude has range of 2,850 nm at long-range cruise speed and 2,700 nm at high-speed cruise. Among the first customers is NetJets, which has ordered up to 150 Latitudes for its fractional ownership operation.
